Although coming from New Jersey, for the most part "Bystander" had not the AOR style and sound typical from the States. They were more stylized, akin Canadian bands like Haywire or Honeymoon Suite, with two lead vocalists adding variation to the music. Anyway, in their debut album "Not So Innocent" the keyboard infusion on some tracks recall American acts such as Dakota, while on more calmer numbers Mr.Mister and Stan Meissner come to mind. Originally released in 1987 by an US indie label, "Not So Innocent" was rescued years after by the great German label Long Island Records with the addition of 3 bonuses.

"François Couperin ‘Le Grand' is the most important member of the Couperin dynasty, whose elegant and trend?setting music is known to have influenced great composers such as J.S. Bach, Telemann and Handel. After becoming organist at St. Gervais in Paris at the age of just 12, he was later appointed Organiste du Chapelle du Roy. It was here that he composed the Concerts Royaux and the Goûts?Réunis (or Nouveaux Concerts) for the entertainment of the aging King Louis XIV. Each includes the florid ornamentation typical of the French Baroque and is extremely adaptable, essentially written for a treble and bass instrument and continuo."

"Verbal Delirium can trace its history back to 1999, then formed by main composer and keyboardist Jargon. Eight years would go by before the band's line-up stabilized however, and it wasn't until 2010 that Verbal Delirium released their debut album. Come 2013 and a slightly revamped version of the band returns with their second album "From the Small Hours of Weakness". If you enjoy bands that incorporate moods, details and style elements from somewhat unusual sources into a progressive rock context, are generally fond of bands that strive for rather unexpected compositional developments and otherwise make an effort to come across as innovative, Verbal Delirium is a band you might want to investigate."

This new album by Julie Fowlis is a carefully selected collection of songs from Gaelic Scotland. Traditional songs presented with new musical accompaniments, this record is all about the songs, and all about the story. With lush accompaniments and arrangements, this record really showcases the strength and maturity of Julie's voice; a change, she says, which has come after having two children. 'A great singer and friend of mine told me when I was expecting my first child that my voice would change, and he was right. I feel now that this is the true sound of my voice.'
